Support The Redemption Home Project

It began with a night visit to the Sangum Vihar slums of New Delhi in September of 2008. Pastor Koshy and Joicy of the Carmel Community Ministries of New Delhi led members of the Pennsylvania Delaware Women of Purpose India team through the slums. When they arrived at a small, dimly lit shack with a blanket for a door, they were introduced to a family who had recently lost their only son.

As the team crowded into the 4 x 6 ft home, they noticed a little girl, Konica, with a crippled arm. The team members prayed for Konica and witnessed God’s immediate, miraculous healing power. It was a time of great praise and rejoicing.

Months later, the team  learned that Konica had been sold by her parents because they could no longer afford to feed and care for her. However, Pastor Koshy and Joicy intervened and bought the child back.

Konica, whose story inspired the Redemption Home project, is only one of thousands of young girls in the slums of India, orphaned or at risk of being sold by parents who are unable to feed and clothe their children. The goal  of the Redemption Home project is to rescue the girls before they are abused, dehumanized, drugged and beaten into submission.

Miraculously, a piece of prime land has been purchased for $44,000 and construction has already begun on the   Redemption Home building.  Construction costs are estimated at $148,000 with completion expected by the end of the year. After its completion, there will be ongoing costs for operation of the facility and sponsorships for the girls living there.
